EZEE Trolleys

A new concept that benefits retailers and shoppers alike!

With reported sales of thousands of units across Australia since its inception early last year, Wollongong based entrepreneur, Derrik Oppermann, with startup venture EZEE Retail Pty Ltd has captured the attention of many and is causing quite a stir amongst retailers as well as delighting shoppers.

Oppermann’s ultimate goal is to revolutionise shopping in Australia and he claims that this is already happening with proof from hundreds of
testimonials from retailers all around Australia. It is apparently being achieved through the adoption of the EZEE Retail shopping concept used in conjunction with their new customer trolley branded -EZEE Trolley.

EZEE Trolley is a modern 21st Century design customer trolley that holds two shopping baskets. The idea is for basket shoppers to be able to carry on shopping when their basket becomes full or heavy and to cater for the impulse purchase factor of 12%.

Research shows that the majority purchase decisions are made inside stores and while not everybody will use a large trolley, seeing customers battling with overflowing or heavy shopping baskets is not an uncommon sight in any store.

With EZEE Trolley this all changes with customers being able to acquire a second basket and an EZEE Trolley which are located strategically inside the store. Their intention is to only attract existing basket shoppers to take a second basket. The concept supports the current shopping trend of more frequent visits to the store with smaller purchases being made.

Oppermann says; “This is a proven concept- tried, tested and widely used in the USA, New Zealand, South Africa and Western Europe. It is now catching on fast in Australia, particularly amongst independent retailers, however, we are also talking to a few of the majors who have recognized the potential value of this concept to customers as well as their own organisations.”

“Our original idea was to supply basket trolleys to the grocery trade, however, we modified the design and have standardised with patents pending on EZEE Trolley which is suitable for multiple applications – (with or without baskets) in the grocery, hardware, pharmacy and retail liquor industries. EZEE Trolley is compact and nests well, blending into any retail environment. Ten EZEE Trolleys
occupy less than one square metre of retail space. The design is superior to anything ever seen before.”

Oppermann also believes that the theft and recovery cost of these trolleys is negligible because they are mostly kept inside the store with little or no need for removal. He also says it is proven that large trolleys can cause injury and chronic back pain. He maintains that EZEE Trolley is the most stable and strongest trolley in its class. “It handles far easier than conventional trolleys and creates a win-win for both retailers and customers by allowing customers to buy more, increasing their comfort and reducing store congestion”.
