After more than fifty years of participation, service and supplying quality products to the Funeral, Cemetery and Crematorium Industry of Australia, RH Minter’s Managing Director, Bob Minter, made the decision it was time to provide the industry with a different type educational system.
"It’s time to take professional education directly to the Industries personnel, and make it available to everyone involved – from the boss to the employees – and do so in a manner that is right for Australia and affordable."
On 13 November 2001, Mortuary & Funeral Educators Pty Ltd (MFE) was granted RTO status by the Victorian Qualifications Authority. MFE then began its educational work at the yearly conference of the Australian Institute of Embalming, at Coogee Bay in New South Wales in June of 2002. Since then, MFE has provided Short Courses in numerous locations throughout Australia
The overall mission of MFE is to provide a variety of Certificate Courses and individual Course Components directly from areas assigned to their Scope of Registration. Student participants who attend many of the Short Courses that MFE offer have the opportunity to continue onwards with their assessment; receiving a Statement of Attainment when assessed against competencies matched to a specific Certificate Course Component.
The Mission of Mortuary & Funeral Educators is therefore to take the education out into the Funeral, Cemetery and Crematorium community; providing quality and up to date instruction wherever and whenever it is suitable for the student.
