Inner Impulse
Since the beginning of civilisation, humans have demonstrated an inner impulse to memorialise. Many of us tend to associate only the ‘historical greats’ with memorials. The Pharaohs of Ancient Egypt built pyramids and leaders such as Joseph Stalin and Abraham Lincoln have huge monuments built to their memory. We all crave recognition in some form – to be seen on TV, listed among the best players in the sporting results or even just a mention in the Church newsletter. We have a real desire to remember and be remembered. A memorial for a departed loved one simply satisfies that inner impulse. It is an enduring recognition of a person’s existence. What’s more, modern memorials are no longer exclusive to the rich and powerful, they are now extremely varied and very affordable.

Why Memorialise?
Memorialisation is the final and extremely significant stage of the grieving process and often overlooked due to the high percentage of cremations. Funeral services, wakes and other tributes are well provided for. It is very important that families and friends grieve and well conducted funerals meet those needs. However memorialisation adds a sense of permanence and ensures that the memories are kept alive forever. The cost of memorialisation is only a small part of the overall funeral expenses. It is often said that memorials are for the living, not the dead. It can be a disservice to the community, families and future generations if cremated remains are stored out of sight or scattered in remote locations. Permanent public memorials provide a place where anyone can visit at any time without interruption or imposition to others. Bronze memorials in particular offer a broad range of options to suit the achievements, lifestyle and personality of the individual. Arrow Bronze warrants that the inscription on a bronze plaque will endure a lifetime. With so many shapes, sizes and inscriptions to choose from, we can make memorials unique and special, ensuring the eternal celebration of a life.

The Forgotten Generation
Memories are precious and in times of bereavement are vital for family and friends. They are also an important part of our community history. Cemeteries and crematoria are a wealth of information and used by genealogists, historians and interested members of the public to record information and derive a real insight into the life and times of our past.
Memorials are best located in an environment that provides tranquillity, security, beauty and privacy, furthermore, a memorial needs to be maintained and preserved. Modern Cemeteries, Crematoria and Memorial Parks offer beautiful gardens, lawns, features and park settings for memorialisation options. Public expectations have grown rapidly and these institutions have responded with facilities that in many cases rival botanical gardens. Memorials at these venues provide the community with magnificent facilities. Memories and memorialisation are forever. When you buy a memorial, particularly a bronze plaque, you are buying something of real tangible value that will last a lifetime. Given this permanence and tangibility, the cost of a memorial is affordable but its value is priceless.
